Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets in IPL 2022. Punjab chased down Bangalore's 206-run target by five wickets. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who came in third, was the decisive batsman in the Punjab innings. He scored 44 off 22 balls with four sixes and two fours.
Captain Mayank Agarwal, Shikhar Dhawan and Odeon Smith also performed well. O'Donoghue Smith hit 25 off 8 balls.

Openers Dhawan and Mayank got off to a shaky start. He added 71 runs for the first wicket. But Vanindu Hazaranga gave a break through to RCB by dismissing Mayank. Rajapaksa, who reached the crease in the third, was in good form. He supported Dhawan. Both added 47 runs. But Herschelle Patel broke the tie by dismissing Dhawan.

Punjab then lost two wickets as the team added 21 runs to the total. Mohammad Siraj bowled Rajapaksa and Raj Bawa (0) in successive balls. Liam Livingston started well but was caught by Anuj Rawat off Akash Deep. The team fell to 165 for five in 14.5 overs. But the Smith-Shahrukh duo, who came together at the crease, completed the victory. Both added 52 runs.
Earlier, captain Faf du Plessis (88), Virat Kohli (41 *) and Dinesh Karthik (32 *) were the top scorers for Bangalore. Faf's innings consisted of seven sixes and three fours off 57 balls. For Punjab, Rahul Chahar and Arshdeep Singh took one wicket each.
