Dale Steyn was placed under major scrutiny when he chose to participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) over the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His comments regarding PSL being more rewarding than IPL just added fuel to the fire as he became a target of the Indian fans on social networking sites.
The South African speedster also faced heat when PSL 2021 was halted as the fans called him for choosing PSL over the Indian League. In March 2021, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to postpone the T20 League in the wake of the rise in the number of coronavirus cases. PCB is now planning to conduct the remaining of the tournament from June 1 in a biosecure bubble.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was also forced to reschedule IPL 2021 as a number of players and support staff tested positive for Covid-19. The decision came after the T20 Extravaganza reached almost halfway stage with the first 29 matches done and dusted.
With IPL 2021 postponed, Dale Steyn didn’t fail to take a sly dig at a fan who earlier mocked him for the cancelation of PSL 2021. On March 4, the user tweeted, “More time at hand for @DaleSteyn62 to figure out which of PSL or IPL is better. Perhaps also accounting for the fact that once started, the IPL managed to finish!”
That time, Steyn simply replied, “Haha you’re funny”
Haha you’re funny.

However, exactly two months after the short conversation, Steyn again remembered that fan and after BCCI postponed IPL 2021, he took a sly dig by writing, “Hi”.
Hi 😷

Hopefully, everyone else will get home safe: Dale Steyn
In another tweet, the veteran South African star wished good health to all the players present in India and prayed that the cricketers who were plying their trade in IPL 2021 reach their respective homes safe and sound. The veteran further reckoned that the disease doesn’t have any favorites while sending get well soon message to the infected members.
“Covid don’t care. It has no favorites. Get well to those sick and hopefully, everyone else will get home safe and in good health,” he tweeted.
