David Warner didn’t have the best of campaigns in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. Playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he wasn’t at his best, both as a batsman and as a skipper. Hence, the SRH team management decided to remove him as the captain. At the time of postponement of the IPL, the Sunrisers kept languishing at the bottom of the table.
Their last defeat was against the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. For the time being, he is staying in a hotel even as the Australian cricketers are waiting for the travel restrictions from India to open up. During his time in India, the 34-year-old is busy watching videos of popular songs. One of the songs was ‘Butta Bomma’.
The New South Wales-born Warner is a fan of Telugu songs and one of his videos on the public platform also hogged the limelight. It was during the time when the game of cricket came to a halt during the COVID-19 pandemic back in April 2020.

David Warner is shocked and disappointed: Tom Moody
Earlier, Tom Moody, the Sunrisers director of cricket, said that Warner was ‘shocked’ and ‘disappointed’ after being removed as the captain. Moody also put forth SRH’s plans into the future and also kept him out of the eleven in the match against the Royals in New Delhi.
“We had to make the hard call. Somebody has to miss out and unfortunately, it’s him. He’s shocked and disappointed. Anyone would be disappointed. He has come to terms with the logic behind what we want to achieve from a franchise’s perspective,” Moddy was quoted as saying.
“He has rallied around the team and more importantly the team has rallied around him. I don’t think what’s happened in the past isn’t as relevant and we have made some significant changes in the group in the last 24-48 hours,” Moody said.
“He (David Warner) is not going to be playing in this game and that’s purely a decision based on the combination. We’ve come to the conclusion that at this stage two overseas bat, an all-rounder and Rashid Khan is our best combination,” Moody added.
